Kallithea
Kallithea is located on the first leg of Halkidiki on the eastern coast of Cassandra overlooking the Toroneos Gulf.
It is an international tourist destination with blue-flag beaches that can offer unforgettable holidays, 85 km from Thessaloniki (50 min).

Tourists can find many shops, a pharmacy, an infirmary and a lively night-life for those who love music and dancing.

Kallithea in Ancient Times
The area is of archaeological interest, as a temple of Dionysus and the Nymphs, part of the Temple of Ammon Zeus (who was worshipped in the 5th century BC) and the altar area has been excavated in Kallithea. A large Doric temple in honour of Ammon Zeus was constructed in the mid-fourth century BC.

Modern History
The village was founded in 1925 by refugees who settled in the area after the Asia Minor Catastrophe, coming from the village of Maltepe of Propontis in Asia Minor, known as Vryas in Antiquity and Pelekanon in Byzantium.
